Membership

Our membership has grown actively over the last few years whilst some of our members are solely GMAC members we have a high number of flyers who also fly at other local fields.

Our Members range from 7 to 80 and come from a whole range of backgrounds and with it they bring a wealth of experience and interests.

New Members are welcome but due to high demand we occasionally have to limit beginners due to the demand on our instructors and to be fair to those undergoing training and your wish to get into the air without disappointment.

To fly at the Walsall Airfield (GMAC Club field) GMAC you require a membership, insurance and a local authority permit.

Requirements are:

  • Note prices shown are for 2007 season and are subject to change if BMFA or WMBC charges change.

     

    • Club Membership
      Seniors: £8.00
      Juniors: (Under 16) £4.00
      OAPs: (Over 65) £4.00

      New or lapsed Members are charged a joining fee - £5.00 Adult & £2.50 Junior (lapsed members are any rejoining after February 2007)

      Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council Permit

      Seniors: £27.00
      Juniors: (Under 16) £13.50
      Leisure card holder £13.50

      This is confirmed for 2007 and is always subject to change.

       

    • BMFA Membership and insurance 2007
      Seniors: £27.00
      Juniors: (Under16) £14.00
      Family Seniors: £27.00
      Family Partners: £17.00
      Family Juniors: £10.00

    Membership includes £5 million 3rd party liability insurance

If you hold BMFA insurance at another club this can be wavered as long as you provide your 2007 insurance certificate on joining for 2007. After joining, your BMFA insurance documents are sent to the club and will be available for collection at club nights (please remember to collect them!) the cover slip is only valid for 60 days.
When Joining remember to bring your previous BMFA insurance slip showing certification and your previous Greenacres MAC / WMBC permit.

  • Membership is only obtainable from the membership secretary at the club venue on a club night (last Wednesday of the month) at the Rushall Labour Club (Map)
     
  • NOTE: No memberships will be accepted through or by post, only at club evenings.
  • Make Cheques or Postal Orders payable to Greenacres Model Aero Club.

  • Non-members are NOT allowed to fly at the Airfield, except as an entrant to open events held at the airfield.
  • All solo flyers must have the minimum of a recognised 'A' certificate
