"A" Certificate.... passed!
« on: 08/10/2014, 04:15:09 PM »
All,

I'm pleased to announce that I managed to pass my BMFA "A" Cert today!

Reg phoned me at 11:45 asking if I wanted to try for the test. I had my plane in the car, but the weather looked awful.

Anyway, I got out of the meeting I was in at work and wizzed round the field.

John Peak, Brian Young and others were there, but it was just starting to rain (again)...

Got plane out of car, started to rain harder, sheltered in woods, then did the test questions with Brian and got airborne.

Started raining again during the first circuits, and cross wind was making my turns look nasty, but I landed it OK.

Had to wait until rain eased off before starting second flight, but managed to hit the strip on deadstick landing too!

Really chuffed to have passed!

I cannot thank all the members of the club enough for all the help and support that I have received since joining in April.

Special thanks must go to my trainers:
  • Chris "Taranis Buddy" Bott
  • John "Gotta be a bit hooligan here" Goule
  • Andy "Greased it" Muckley
  • John "Stop talking to yourself!" Peak
  • All the other members that have offer help, support and advise...
I can't wait for the public shows next year...

Thanks to you all again!

Brilliant job - well done Jim.

It's time for that 1/4 scale spitfire now then?  ;)
