BAD servos! TowerPro MG995
« on: 22/09/2014, 07:06:49 PM »
Hi all,

When I built my Arising Star trainer, I needed some servos...

Ordered four from Ebay(?!), TowerPro MG995, fast with metal gears.

When Chris and I flew the plane this last weekend we noticed that the aileron servo was not centering anymore.

I came home tonight to try the forth (spare) servo and that's not centering either!

Tried it on different RX channels, running at 6 volts instead of 5 volts off the BEC... no good...

Other servos seem to be OK so I can only conclude that 2 out of the 4 don't center correct, therefore a 50% failure rate...

Chris has recommended some servos from Hobbyking but I don't know if they'll turn up for the weekend.

If anyone has a reliable full size servo for my ailerons, can they bring it along to Club Night on Wednesday, and I'll give you some money for it. Nothing fancy, just reliable...

Cheers!

Hi Jim

As you know I don't have any spares, but here's something I found that you could use the old ones for  ;D ;D
