Electric Fun Fly 2006 

  
Weather-wise it’s been a funny old year, hasn’t it? True, we had some fantastic weather in July, but the preceding May and June saw a few UK fly-ins literally blown away by the wind, and that self same wind came back in August to coincide with the annual bash at Walsall.
   Actually, the weather wasn’t half as bad as the forecasters were predicting and both days of the event were flyable, but the dire predictions kept many a pilot away it seems.
  Well it was their loss. True, the breeze did blow, but the sky usually had several models doing their stuff throughout the event.
   As usual the lads of the Greenacres club used their vast experience to make the weekend a memorable one for all us visitors.
   Yes numbers were down, but in spite of it all we all had a good time!
   The fortitude of the Greenacres club members was amply demonstrated on the Sunday. The catering van failed to turn up, so our hosts immediately decided to set up their own barbeque and then cooked up hamburgers and hot dogs for everybody – all for free.
